Three of My Favorite Musical Artists

Well, folks I know it has been quite some time since I have updated this blog. Honestly, the reason has been quite simple I just really have not had much to write about. However, I recently was going down the rabbit hole of music in my collection, digital or physical, and decided to share with you just who some of my favorite musical artists are. Keep in mind that this list is in no particular order.

So for a little context, my musical taste is all over the map. I listen to hip-hop, metal (more metalcore,) hard rock, classical, electronica/techno, video game music. Anyway, the list goes on and on and I only use those broad genre descriptors so the layperson can understand this, don't even get me started on the sub-genre stuff. Now with that frame of reference given this list will be easier for people to understand.

36 Crazyfists is a hard rock, alt-rock, nu-metal, metalcore band that hails from Alaska. These guys are easily one of my favorite bands. A lot of that reason is because of  Brock's unique vocal style. The closest person I have been able to find that he sounds like would be the singer from Glassjaw. If you want a band that is willing to try and do different stuff I would definitely give 36CF a try. Song recommendations would be Midnight Swim, End of August, The Tide and Its Takers, and Destroy the Map.

Jade Villalon AKA Jade Valerie, Jade from Sweetbox is a singer/songwriter most wildly known for her time in the German project group known as Sweetbox. Most people, who know of Jade's music in the West were introduced to her through Final Fantasy X-2. However, her music was available in Japan before this. She sang the English version of the songs "Real Emotion" and "1000 Words".   The thing that I love about the music that Jade and her teammate Geo make is that they incorporate elements of famous classical music in which they build the music they make around. For example, one of her most popular songs is Everything's Gonna Be Alright which is based on  "Air" from Johann Sebastian Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3. Song recommendations Everythings Gonna Be Alright Reborn, 1000 Words, Crown of Thorns, Unbreakable, Piece of Love, Wonderful World, Don't Leave Me This Way.

Locksmith is hands down a modern-day wordsmith. This man's rhyming ability is off the charts and the wildest thing is he does NOT use a pen and a pad. Everything he does is off the top of his head. He is such an underrated hip-hop artist. He is easily in my top 3 of all time. Substance wise he talks about his life experiences growing up being Arab and African American, and the struggles that have brought him. He is not afraid to voice his opinion on topics in his music talking about everything from hip-hop culture, national politics, or personal life issues. Song recommendations Clouds, The One, Black Holocaust, House of Games 2, Home, The Hardest Song, and Nobody.

This was just a small sample of the stuff that I listen to I will probably at some point make another list talking more about some of the other genres and artists that I listen to and love. Until next time folks keep on listening to that music.
