3 Recommended PS Vita Games

The PlayStation Vita had a long troubled history as a console that was finally officially killed in 2019. It was launched in December 2011 to much fanfare. The Vita was meant to be the portable gaming system to have if you wanted truly home console quality games on the go. Unfortunately, the Vita was never really able to reach its full potential for a variety of reasons, from the cost of the proprietary memory cards to Sony's lack of marketing and publishing games for the system after 2015. However, the Vita had a good solid library despite what a lot of is detractors may say. So today, let us take a look at 3 games that you should get if you are looking to get a PS Vita now.

If there was ever a game to show off what a good FPS on the Vita could look like it was Killzone Mercenary. The opening level alone for this thing has you jumping out aircraft and using a flight suit to reach your objective with destruction and various other things going on in the background. The controls are tight and it uses the features of the Vita in a good way, not in that typical gimmick way that you would normally find on say early ps3 game ala Lair.

Fighting games on the go that are good are always a hard thing to come by. So that is where Dead or Alive 5+ comes in. The graphics are smooth and the gameplay is fluid, which are all the things any fighting game fan would want. This game also comes with a boatload of content from story mode to fighting mode and characters. If you are looking for a full packaged fighting game to have on the go this is without a doubt the one to be grab.

Do you feel like you are in prison for a million years? Well, try playing a game where that is actually the case. You take on missions that race your rank that allow you to have basic freedoms. Told to go here, and don't get time added onto your sentence. The gameplay though is really what makes Freedom Wars such a unique experience take Monster Hunter, mix in Attack on Titan, add in some verticality to the environments and you have yourself Freedom Wars. This is easily one of the most unique games on the platform. If you are buying games for the Vita, I can not recommend Freedom Wars enough.

So there you have it folks, 3 game recommendations for that PlayStation Vita you maybe eying or may own.
