5 Gifts Ideas for a Linux User
Are those Linux folks in your life the hardest to shop for? Be it for they have everything technology-related under the sun? Or do you just not simply understand what the hell they are talking about when they go on and on and on about Linux? Well here is a buying guide from a Linux user so you can buy the right thing for that pain in the ass Linux user in your life!
1. Pine Phone- Any real Linux diehard will tell you that Android or ChromeOS is not Linux! They will talk about how much they wish for a real Linux phone! Well, fear not because Pine64 to the rescue with the Pine Phone! Install your OS on it and don't worry about MS, FB, Google, Apple, Amazon, etc. controlling their phone experience anymore! All for $150
2. Star Labs Star Lite MkII- Linux laptops and desktops usually carry some kind of markup in comparison to their Windows counterparts. The reason for this is most Linux boutique shops do some kind of work to make Linux work the best it possibly can on the hardware they sell. So Linux users complain about not having an affordable option, well look no further than the Star Lite MkII from Star Labs coming in at a very reasonable $419.
3. USB Flash drives- Now this one might sound a little odd to those outside of Linux, but a diehard Linux user will always appreciate these as gifts 16GB or bigger recommended. The reason is this will allow them to either always has an OS to go with them or for when they are distro-hopping like crazy. One can never have too many of these.
4. Donating to their favorite project- Now this isn't necessary, but some people really do try or want to contribute to their favorite OSS (open source software) project but just can not. But if you know they love that software, and you can donate to that project for that person.
5. To end this list BTW I Run Arch merch will be appreciated by any Linux user.
P.S. BTW I run Manjaro :p
Excellent ideas. :)
